John Goodeve-Docker (A 64)

On behalf of the OW Golf Society, we are very sad to share that John Goodeve-Docker (A 64) passed away on Thursday 27th November after a short illness. OWGS President Henry Somerset (Bn 79) shared the message below on behalf of his family and the OWGS: 

John (or “Docker” as he was affectionately known) was a very long-standing member of the Old Wellingtonian Golfing Society. He was our Captain in the late 1980’s and he has been our incredibly hard working and revered Honorary Secretary and Treasurer for well over 25 years. He will be much missed in very many ways. 

John was a brilliant supporter of the OW Sports Societies as a lifelong member of the OWGS, writing the OW Golf article for the Yearbook each year. We are incredibly grateful to him for his continued support of and service to the OW Community.  

He will be fondly remembered by the Wellington Community Team – a sentiment we are sure will be shared throughout the OW community.
