17 for 17 Podcast Launches with Darcy Bourne (C 20), GB Hockey Player

07 November 2025

This week, we launched our brand new podcast, 17 for 17: 17 Stories of Sustainable Impact, a series of 17 inspiring conversations between current Wellington students and OWs who are making a global impact through their careers. Each episode aligns with one or more of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals and explores personal career journeys, global challenges, and the role young people can play in building a more sustainable and equitable future.

In the first episode, Jessy Banzoulou (M 25) speaks with Darcy Bourne (C 20) — Great Britain and England hockey international and co-founder of Raising Her Game, a charity empowering girls from low-income and diverse backgrounds to access sport.

Darcy shares how she uses her platform to promote well-being, gender equality and inclusion, linking directly to SDGs 3, 5 & 10. From viral activism to mentoring young players, her story highlights how performance can drive purpose and how small acts of leadership can create systemic change.

Listen to the first episode now on Spotify, or watch on Vimeo. New episodes releasing every Tuesday afternoon!
