Kelly Brick (W 17): GB Sprint World Triathlon Championships

02 January 2026

We are proud to share that Kelly Brick (W 17) represented Great Britain in the Age Group Sprint World Triathlon Championships on Friday 17th October 2025 in Wollongong, Australia. Kelly   finished with a time of 1 hour 19 minutes, her best PB time in the last 10 years of triathlon racing, and ranked 26th in the World! Kelly was cheered on by her family, including her sister, Courtney Brick (W 15) and her husband, Dominic Martin (R 16). On her race, Kelly says:

“I was contacted in January 2025 to inform me that I was had been selected for the Age Group Great British triathlon team. This was such an honour to represent for my county for the 5th time in a sport I love. I ensured that I put in some hard work, time and dedicated towards my training squeezing in sessions before and after work.

On race day, the swim route was altered last minute, due to the stormy conditions out at sea. We stayed within the harbour and completed a choppy 750m before exiting the water, running up some stairs towards the transition zone. The bike route was 20km along the beautiful Australian roads (with no potholes!). It was a drafting legal race, and I was lucky to join a brilliant pack of six females who worked well together on the first lap. At a sharp turn at the halfway point, an athlete swerved in front of me, losing that pack. However, I was able to create a group of three females, who worked together for the last 10km of the race. Off the bike and onto the run was when the day was starting to heat up. Three laps, with a steep incline around the Lighthouse in the exposed sun made it a tough 5km.

However, the brilliant support of my family, fellow team GB crew and excited locals provided significant motivation along the course route. A final sprint across the finish line secured my personal best time. The temperature at the finish was 32°C, which was our hottest day during the whole trip to Australia. It was such an incredible day. Nine months of hard training to
prepare for this race, alongside my full time job was very rewarding.”

A fantastic result, following months of hard work and a tough race – well done Kelly!
