17 August 2022

Sam Edgerley (Bd 10) is running 100 miles to raise awareness and funds for MyelomaUK after being inspired by Joe Munro‘s  (A 09 – OW 1st 15 rugby player) dad Bob and his family and the way they have faced their battle against Myeloma for the last 10 years displaying incredible resilience and positivity.

Please see below a message from Sam with regards to how you can get involved.

Hello all. I hope you are all doing great!

Date for your diaries- October 1st 2022 3pm for The “UltraBob 100” 10km run followed by the The UltraBob 100 after party which will kick off from 4pm for those going straight there to welcome in the runners.

What is the UltraBob 100?

Sam Edgerley is running 100 miles to raise awareness and funds for MyelomaUK after being inspired by Joe Munro‘s  (OW 1st 15 rugby player) dad Bob and his family and the way they have faced their battle against Myeloma for the last 10 years displaying incredible resilience and positivity (read more in the justgiving link). Bob is UltraBob! We would love as many people to come run the final 10km and/or celebrate afterwards with us afterwards.

Let’s do it for UltraBob, but also for Bob’s wife and rock Linda, Bob’s wonderful family and all the other Ultra men, women and families out there who are fighting the battle against Myeloma. You can read more about Bob’s battle via the justgiving link.

How to get involved:

We would love to get as many of you involved as possible by inviting you to run the final 10km of the journey with us.

The meet point for the 10km run will be at the Prince Albert Pub: 85 Albert Bridge Road, London, SW11 4PF on Saturday October 1st. Meet time is 3pm for a 3:30pm start. Sam and the marathon runners (please do also get in touch if you are keen to run the final marathon!) will be arriving for around that time if pacing goes well so we ask you to be punctual in terms of arrival so that we can all run it home for UltraBob and MyelomaUK. We will be running a 10km loop finishing back at the Prince Albert, where cold beers will be waiting and we will be having a big old post run celebration to raise even more money and awareness for MyelomaUK.

We will be kitting you out in UltraBob100 MyelomaUK running gear from the waist up so we can raise as much awareness about our fundraising efforts as possible along the route.

If you don’t fancy the run, that’s completely cool! Please still come down to the finish line to welcome us in and to enjoy the after party which will go on late into the evening!

To sign up to the run please donate to my JustGiving page by clicking on the link below and leave the comment “running” and we will book you in. We also of course welcome any donations from those not running: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/UltraBob10

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Myeloma UK, so it’s the most efficient way to give – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Looking forward to seeing you all down there!

Sam and the UltraBob 100 Team
