23 April 2018

Charlie (Bn 13), Katie (C 16) & George Barrow (S 19) took part in hottest ever London Marathon, fundraising for the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund.

From L to R
Charlie: 4 hrs 10
Katie: 5 hrs 2
George: 4 hrs 45.

“Now that we are all over eighteen  we thought it would be the perfect year to run the London Marathon together. 26.2 miles doesn’t seem too far when your father has somehow managed to complete it twice.”

The RPMF raises vital funds to help and support young aspiring British athletes reach their true potential. They help athletes make the difficult transition from junior to senior level through support for equipment, specialist coaching or travel and importantly building their confidence and self esteem through recognition and helping retain their talent within the sport.

The majority of the British athletics Olympic teams in 2008, 2012 and 2016 had at some stage of their careers received support from the Fund, including all of the London 2012 and 2016 individual Olympic athletics medallists.
