Pastoral Talk: Growth Mindsets

18 January 2018

On Saturday 13th January Ian Morris talked about what is probably the most influential piece of education research ever conducted. In the 1980s, Professor Carol Dweck started to conduct research into the effect of a person’s beliefs about their own intelligence on the progress that they made with learning. Her research was ground-breaking and shows us that what we believe about our own intelligence and how we give praise to others has a significant impact on how well we learn. This talk explained Dweck’s research and its impact for pupils, teachers and parents alike.
