Going up against entries from hundreds of schools around the globe, Wellington is delighted to have been recognised for our efforts to prepare pupils for life beyond the ‘school bubble’. Earlier this month, Wellington was named Best of the Best Senior School for Preparation for Life in The Week Independent Schools Guide.
We proactively equip pupils to flourish in their future lives through our ‘Life Beyond Wellington’ programme, which blends the best of academic and co-curricular with real-world application. Running from Third Form to Upper Sixth and beyond it features practical Life Skills Workshops, Careers Speed Networking Events and industry talks. One of the most valuable aspects of the programme is Wellington Connect Global, a networking platform with over 6000 members, made up of parents and alumni.
Old Wellington, Beth, said: “The industry networking events at College shaped my path to becoming a lawyer and I still talk about the work experience I acquired through Wellington Connect in job interviews. This helped me to secure a training contract”
Last year we launched our OW University Ambassador Scheme to support Sixth Form students as they explore university options by matching them with alumni who are studying at popular destinations. We will soon be launching the next cohort – please get in touch if you would be interested in volunteering!
These initiatives are complemented by our robust wellbeing provision along with new Sixth Form facilities, curriculum innovations and practical new courses, all equipping pupils with the skills and confidence to fulfil their immense potential.
