Introducing the 2018 OW Year Reps

04 July 2018

The class of 2018 were met with glorious sunshine on their graduation day. It was a full day of chapel services, house meals, and of course the graduation ball.

But our 2018 Year Reps found time in their day to come along and see the Community Team, so we could thank them for volunteering to be a part of our growing OW Rep programme.

They were given a little memento as a thank you, and invited to join the official OW Rep group on Wellington Connect.

Each year we recruit/appoint a number of leavers to become OW ‘Ambassadors’. It is becoming a rather special tradition, in part because it is entirely voluntarily and it’s quite an honour to be selected.

Those selected to be a Class of 2018 Ambassadors, were nominated by teachers, HMs, and from within the Community Office. We are thrilled so many decided to pick up the gauntlet.

Being an ‘OW Ambassador’ is very simple and involves 2 aspects;

  1. Keeping closest OW friends up-to-date with what we’re up to in the Community office, primarily by spreading the word about relevant events and reunions.
  2. Keep us up-to-date with what is going on in the OW community! OWs can be surprisingly bashful about sharing their achievements, and we want to know about that promotion or new job, that marathon or expedition, that marriage or special anniversary, that new business venture, or that opportunity which could interest our wider community.

We are starting to gain momentum in growing our OW Year Reps for previous year groups, so if you are interested then please do get in touch with the Community Office: community@wellingtoncollege.org.uk
