“I enjoyed speaking to OWs and how they have navigated life in so many different ways after College.”

Our OW callers have been asked a few questions about their time at Wellington and why they decided to be involved as a caller during our telephone campaign which took place in April 2024.

Cole Whittingham (Bn 21) is currently pursuing a masters degree in History at the University of Edinburgh, in his penultimate year of study.

Qu. 1 What is your favourite memory from Wellington?

“Representing the First XI Football team abroad in Seville following my GCSEs. It was an unparalleled experience, training and playing on professional top division facilities alongside my peers from school.”

Qu. 2 Why did you want to be a part of the campaign? What made you want to get involved?

“I wanted to participate in this campaign for two reasons. Firstly, the ability to reflect back on the best 5 years of my life and to hear about and share my experiences with past students. This social and networking element appeals to me massively. Second of all, one of my best friends from Wellington was afforded the opportunity through a bursary scheme – I wouldn’t have met him if it wasn’t for this incredible initiative by the school.”

Qu. 3 Can you tell us a ‘Fun Fact’ about yourself!

“As an extensive traveller, I travelled to Japan last year, during which I skied down a dormant volcano in Niseko.”
