Giving Circles

Recognising Philanthropy at Wellington

Wellington College was built on the vision and generosity of philanthropic support and every gift no matter what the size is gratefully received.

We want giving to College to be an enjoyable and sociable experience and to this end, have established a number of giving circles and networks that aim to bring together like-minded individuals at bespoke events and activities throughout the year. All donors will be acknowledged in our publications and each year will be invited to a drinks reception hosted by the Master.

Philanthropic Giving

We are thrilled to see so many OWs and parents giving on a regular basis as this way of giving helps College with its long-term planning whilst making an immediate impact on the opportunities we can create for our students.

The Prince Albert Society – our parent regular giving society

The Prince Albert Society is for both our current and former parents who sign up to give on a regular basis to the Prince Albert Scholarship programme. We hope they will pass this tradition to their children once they graduate and become OWs. In return as a Prince Albert Society member you will be invited to an annual drinks reception hosted by the Master and will be regularly updated on the progress of the programme as well as invited to a number of events throughout the year to share ideas with similar like-minded individuals.

The Kingsleys Society – our OW regular giving society

The Kingsleys Society is our OW regular giving club, introducing OWs to the ethos of philanthropy by encouraging regular giving and encouraging them to continue a long-standing tradition of giving something back to Wellington. In return as a Kingsleys Society member you will be invited to an annual drinks reception as well as having access to a 121 career support programme. The money will go towards the Prince Albert Scholarship programme which provides young people of talent and ambition, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to come to College, the same life-changing education that you experienced.

The Waterloo Society – for anyone who has pledged to leave a gift in their will

Wellington College is enormously grateful to those who choose to make a gift in their Will. To recognise this generous contribution, all who indicate an intention to leave a gift to Wellington College will become members of the Waterloo Society and we will be delighted to welcome members to an annual drinks party with the Master. Legacy gifts to the College are an important element of our fundraising programme and help to fund our bursary programme as well as preserving our wonderful buildings and grounds.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported the school in other ways, notably through time, expertise, and goodwill.

The College’s ambition to ensure that children of talent and promise, but without the financial means, are able to attend College, is stronger than ever. I am delighted that the legacy I intend to leave will enable a student to grow in stature and confidence and take part in the Wellington life that has served me so well.”
