Garden Society Trip: Millais Nurseries – Rhododendrons Visit

10:30am, Millais Nurseries, Farnham

A must-visit venue tucked away down some lovely Surrey lanes is Millais Nurseries. The Millais family has been established at Crosswater Farm since 1947, but their Rhododendron heritage goes back to the naturalist, botanist and author J G Millais, who identified and described many Rhododendrons for the first time and published his great two volume series ‘Rhododendrons’ (1917 and 1924). Ted and Romy Millais started the nursery in 1970 and today is run by David Millais.

Join David for a wonderful tour of the nurseries and gardens to see the widest range of Rhododendrons and Azaleas in the world, including rare species from the Himalayas and new hybrids from around the world. This is a beautiful time to visit the Nurseries as there will be a variety of flowers in full bloom.

Tickets cost £4 per person and tea, coffee and biscuits are included.

The Old Wellingtonian Lodge No.3404

The Old Wellingtonian Lodge No.3404 is a Masonic Lodge for Old Wellingtonians, Governors, Masters and Officers of Wellington College, present and past, whether already a Freemason or those interested in becoming one. It is part of the Public School Lodges’ Council; a forum for the private lodges of many of our great public schools.

We welcome enquiries from anyone interested in finding out more about Freemasonry. Also, those who are already Freemasons are warmly welcomed to join us; especially those from PSLC Lodges or Old Wellingtonians from other Lodges – just ask!

Members of the Lodge meet in London three times each year: in February, October and November. For our May meeting we return to Wellington College to celebrate our Freemasonry and gives us the opportunity to support College charities and initiatives.
